rotation description
The St. Paul’s Hospital Solid Organ Transplantation rotation is an elective rotation of the
Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services Pharmacy Practice Residency program specializing in adult
kidney and heart transplantation.
The Resident will primarily be working in the inpatient renal unit and the Post-Renal Transplantation Clinic, specializing in adult nephrology medicine. The Post-Renal Transplant Team services ~950 outpatients with ~180 new kidney transplants per year.
The Post-Heart Transplantation Team services ~250 outpatients and ~20 new heart transplants per year. Both areas are staffed by staff nephrologists/cardiologists, fellows, residents, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, and social workers. The Resident will have the opportunity to integrate with the multidisciplinary team operating on the units and provide pharmaceutical care to the patients there.
