rotation assessment overview

The resident and preceptor shall complete and review together the mid-point and final evaluations. The mid-point evaluation should be completed at the half-way point of the rotation. Final evaluations shall be completed at the end of the rotation. There is no midpoint evaluation for rotations less than four weeks in duration.

Mid-point evaluations:

• preceptor’s in-training assessment of resident (ITAR) performance

Final evaluations:

• resident’s self-evaluation (ITAR)
• preceptor’s evaluation of the resident (ITAR)
• resident’s evaluation of the rotation and preceptor
• residency coordinator evaluation of pass or fail status for DPC rotation

Other Evaluations (if assigned):

• Evaluation of Case Presentation (Primary Preceptor, Attendees, and Resident Self Evaluation)
• Evaluation of Journal Club Presentation (Primary Preceptor, Attendees, and Resident Self Evaluation)
• Evaluation of Inservice Education Presentation (Primary Preceptor, Attendees, and Resident Self Evaluation)
