Island Health provides health care to more than 765,000 people (17% of BC) on Vancouver Island and surrounding Gulf Islands. We have 18,000 health care professionals, servicing 1500 acute care and rehabilitation beds, and 6350 residential care beds and assisted living units. Island Health pharmacists provide a full scope of pharmacy services to a broad spectrum of patients, ranging from ambulatory to critically ill. Our twelve institutions include rural health care centers, community hospitals, and tertiary care teaching hospitals.
