Salary & Benefits

As consideration for the Pharmacy Resident to agree to receive his/her training with the VIHA Pharmacy Department AND accept a Service Agreement, the Pharmacy Resident will receive a repayable salary of $30,000, which will be forgiven or recoverable in accordance with this Agreement. In further consideration, the resident will have their tuition fee ($17,000) waived, subject to the terms of this Agreement. The Pharmacy Resident will receive $20,000 in wages as stated in the letter of offer. The amount of the repayable salary $30,000 and the $20,000 in wages (total of $50,000) will be paid to the Pharmacy Resident in installments during the residency period (as determined by the VIHA Payroll Services) less applicable statutory deductions and income tax.

The parties agree that the repayable salary and tuition represent a portion of the costs and expenses reasonably incurred by VIHA in providing the Pharmacy Practice Residency program to the Pharmacy Resident.

Should the Pharmacy Resident terminate his/her residency at any time during the Pharmacy Practice Residency program, the above payments will cease and the Resident agrees to repay to VIHA any amounts received from the $30,000 repayable salary, as well as the prorated amount of the $17,000 tuition fee.
