Abstract
Many studies of patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) focus on specific treatments or harm reduction strategies but there is little research into the patient journey and their experiences. For example, characterizing patients' use of pharmaceutical alternatives (PA) and opioid agonist therapies (OAT) may help refine patient engagement strategies and program planning. This study endeavours to fill the knowledge gap by characterizing a cohort of patients with OUD and their patient journeys in respect to their use of illicit drugs, PA, and OAT.
