Abstract
Firstline ClinicalTM (Firstline) is an antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) mobile application (app) that has shown to decrease antimicrobial use and increase prescribing appropriateness. In July 2020, Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) AMS program released the app with site-specific content for BC Children’s Hospital’s (BCCH) and BC Women’s Hospital’s (BCWH). Although initial uptake was high, there has been a decline in active users since its launch. The purpose of this study was to describe user satisfaction and app usage. To increase app uptake, it was found that more awareness of its benefits, more guidelines, and inclusion of duration of therapy is needed.
