Resident Participation on Residency Advisory Committee

Pharmacy Residents in Island Health are members of the Residency Advisory Committee (RAC) and are expected to actively contribute to committee discussions as able. Pursuant to the Terms of Reference of the RAC, pharmacy residents are expected to provide updates on their progress in the program and to provide feedback related to improvements to be made in program format and/or delivery.

Residents will need to prepare Powerpoint slides which will serve as written documentation for what you discussed at the meeting along with the minutes. Each resident is allotted time on the agenda at each meeting to cover the items listed below. Please take note of the additional requirements for the September meeting listed at the bottom of the page.

Progress

- Rotations completed since last update
- Leadership/Management project status and upcoming milestones
- Research project status (mention current phase of project work) and upcoming milestones
- Focus areas for improvement identified through preceptor feedback and self-reflection (e.g. name top 3, may take directly from most recent ITAR)

Additional Requirements for the September RAC Meeting

- Where and when you obtained your pharmacy degree
- Your long-term career goals

Graduating resident representation on committee

There is one position available for a year one graduate on the committee each year. At the conclusion of the residency year the graduating resident group will select one person to serve in this role in the coming year. At the completion of the Year One graduate position the resident will rotate into the Year Two graduate position on the committee.
